My name is Connie Lodell.
I am a Independent Personal Publishing Consultant.
I enjoy team roping where I am a header. I have the best tool, Blaze. He's not really my horse, but he likes me better. We get along very well. I started riding when I was 6 on my Welsh Pony, Blacky. I purchased him for $45.00. He was such a brat, but kept me out of trouble and taught me a great deal. When my feet were inches from the ground, as hard as it was, it was time to up grade to a horse. I bought my horse from my kindergarten teacher. His name was Taco and soon was changed to Surrocco Star. He was green broke and between Blacky and Surrocco, I learned how to ride and hold on tight. I bought Surrocco when he was 3. He was just shy of his 33rd birthday when I had to say goodbye.
My other passion is my dogs. I have 8 Border Collies. I enjoy working my dog on sheep when I can, even though I currently have just 3. Some of the dogs compete in dog agility, canine Frisbee and two are learning to dock dive. They keep me busy and learning new things. I would be lost without them.
I lost my Australian Sheppard mix, Lacey Nov 15, 2008. I adopted her from The Humane Society when she was 5. Lacey was terrified of many things, but with patience, time and helping her to be independent, she learned how to solve her issues and was able to go down stairs, sit by a fire place, get her ball out of a bag and so much more. She learned to play, sorda, with other dogs. She was not thrilled at all when my first Border Collie joined us, Montana Skye (she came from Montana, the Big Sky State so it was only fitting to call her Montana Skye). Lacey was about 10 at the time and soon learned to be best friends with Skye. Skye has changed since the passing of Lacey even though she has a few of her pups at home.
I joined Heritage Makers because I believe that family traditions and stories should be documented and recorded for generations to come. What a better way then to write your own book and have the ability to self publish. I love being able to use my photos in the many different products we have like, storybooks, posters, individual pages, greeting cards/invitations, calendars, a deck of playing cards, gallery wrapped canvases and so much more. I can create posters of my dogs in agility, and the horses for the barn. I can create storybooks, cards, canvases of my dogs/horses for the house. They are no longer sitting on my computer or on a CD/flash drive with no purpose at all. I can email photos to friends and families. With my Premier account, I can upload an unlimited amount of photos and I don’t have to worry about my photos being lost, they are safely being held on two different servers. The quality of all of Heritage Makers products is amazing. We have the largest selections of storybooks of any of the companies and we have the Heirloom assurance too. My books go with me everywhere I go and they look great.
I’ve started having different Country Artist sign my first Cattle Drive book since I do have it in my car.
I truly love seeing people light up with excitement when they start their projects and when they receive them in the mail. It's really a special time for everyone.
